Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Blackthread website at theblackthread.in (the “Site”) or joining our waitlist, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Blackthread (“we”, “our”, or “us”), incorporated and operating under the laws of India.

Blackthread is an end-to-end encrypted messaging platform currently in pre-launch. The Site currently allows you to:

• Join the early-access waitlist by providing your email address.
• Learn about Blackthread's features and security model.
• Contact us through the contact form.

The full messaging application has not yet launched. These Terms will be updated when the application becomes publicly available.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Site or join the waitlist. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. Use of the Site by individuals under 18 is not permitted.

By joining the waitlist, you agree to receive a one-time notification email when early access to Blackthread opens. We will not use your email address for any other marketing purpose without your separate and explicit consent.

Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access to the product, create any contractual obligation on Blackthread to launch, or entitle you to any compensation.

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Indian or international law.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, infrastructure, or data.
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to interact with the Site without our written permission.
• Transmit any malicious code, virus, or destructive data through the Site.
• Engage in any conduct that could damage, disable, or impair the Site.

All content on the Site — including but not limited to the Blackthread name, logo, design, text, graphics, and software — is the exclusive property of Blackthread or its licensors and is protected under applicable Indian copyright and trademark laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this Site without our prior written permission.

The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

We make no guarantees regarding the availability, accuracy, or completeness of any information on the Site.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Blackthread and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed ₹1,000 (Indian Rupees One Thousand).

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Site (or any part of it) at any time without notice. We also reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
